I wonder which REAL MAN doesn’t love them?
I like cars in general, but when I see a well preserved Jaguar E-Type from the 60’s (the one Diabolik drives) or a classic Mercedes Benz 300 SL “ali di gabbiano” from the 50’s… they are a just playing another league compared to the “new” models!
I went a couple of weeks ago to one of the most important vintage cars expositions in Europe, which took place in Padova. It was my first time in such an event and trust me, it was even better than watching a Victoria’s Secret show!
I didn’t expect so many, and all together! After the first shock, I started actually asking and looking around at what I’m really looking for, a Porsche Targa. I still haven’t found one, so if you are slling one, let me know 😉
Here are a few tips if you want to purchase a vintage car:
- Always ask an expert, they know details and insights you’ll never even think about!
- Don’t “fall in love” immediately. Sometimes you think a car is “the one”, but most of the times, if you look better, you’ll find a better one, maybe for cheaper! This is a journey, it might take time.
- Never buy a vintage car in expositions and shows, people who go there most of the times ask for crazy prices, hoping a fool will do what I told you not to do in point 2. Get the owner’s contact and call them couple of weeks after the show is over, most likely the price they ask for will be at least 30% less.
- A private seller is usually cheaper, but be careful to not be fooled (to avoid so, do as in point 1!)
And now… Enough withe the talk, and let’s see some beauties!
